INCO process

The surfaces are coloured using an electrochemical process (INCO). In this colouring process, the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the stainless steel sheet is modified, creating colour on the surface through interference. In this context, interference refers to utilising the phase difference between light waves reflected from the various oxide surfaces formed during treatment and those reflected from the metal surface underneath.

The key advantage of interference colouring is that it changes the appearance of the stainless steel surface without the need to use paints or coatings, resulting in finishes that are both corrosion-resistant and visually appealing.

The finishes are temperature-resistant up to 200°C, durable and UV-resistant.

In addition to the finishes shown below, all pattern-rolled and patterned sheets can also be coloured using INCO technology. INCO-coloured surfaces can also be combined with chemical etchings.

They are produced according to Steel Color patterns. Slight variations in colour and brightness may occur due to the differing reflectivity of the base material. The colours are indicative and should not be considered as reference samples.

Technical notes

The sheets have an uncoloured margin of 20 mm; the edges are uncoloured
The sheets are coloured on both sides: the A side is coloured according to the pattern, the B side is coloured but not guaranteed
Anti-Fingerprint treatment (“easy to clean”) is available on many finishes
