Anti-Fingerprint (AFP) treatment

The surfaces treated with the special Anti-Fingerprint treatment (AFP) retain their aesthetic and mechanical properties. This reduces fingerprints, provides an “easy to clean” finish and makes it easier to remove dirt.

A thin layer of a perfectly transparent paint is applied to the sheets. This paint adheres strongly to the surface and enables various finishing methods, such as shearing, laser cutting (with both fibre and CO₂ lasers), stamping (without oil), and bending.

The applied paint has the following properties::

• Resistance to household cleaners
• Safe contact with food and organic acids
• Does not contain any heavy metals

Easy to clean
Sheets with the Anti-Fingerprint treatment should be cleaned, like conventional stainless steel sheets, with only a soft cloth and neutral soap.

Available finishes
The Anti-Fingerprint treatment can be applied to the following finishes:

• Coloured surfaces using INCO and PVD processes: Satinato (grinded), Pallinato (glass-bead blasted), Scotch Brite (SB), Hairline (HL)
• Pattern-rolled and patterned finishes: Lino (linen), Quadro (square), Dots (dots), Pelle (leather), Stof
• Uncoloured finishes: Satinato (grinded), Pallinato (glass-bead blasted), Hairline, Scotch Brite

Please note that this treatment is currently not available for 2WL, 5WL, 6WL, STRIPES, BRONZO SATINATO INC. and mirror-polished finishes (SUPER MIRROR No. 8 / LUCIDO 7). However, Steel Color is continuously developing new finishes and is happy to assess demand for the above-mentioned finishes upon specific request.

The AFP treatment can be applied to the finishes listed above. The dimensions and alloys depend on the chosen finish and cover the full range of dimensions and alloys.
