High-precision rolled strips
High-precision rolled strips for welded tubes
Welded tubes made of high-precision strips are used in various industries such as the medical industry, the aerospace industry or in measurement and control technology.
For the production of welded and drawn tubes, Lamineries MATTHEY supplies rolled and cut strips in the thicknesses and widths specified by our customers. Welding can be done by laser or other technologies.
The technical requirements for these strips are often the same: precision rolled strips, delivered in a soft condition and cut to very specific widths and with very tight tolerances according to customer requirements. The thickness can vary greatly, but is typically between 1.00 mm and 0.05 mm.
In the medical field, these strips can be used to make capillary tubes for applications such as needles, stents and surgical instruments.
Lamineries MATTHEY supplies the aerospace industry with strips to produce special alloy tubes with a round cross-section or in the form of profile tubes e.g. for heat exchangers, temperature probes, linear displacement sensors, Pitot tubes.
In measurement and control technology, thin-walled tubes with small diameters that adhere to strict tolerances in terms of dimensions and mechanical properties are used, for example in measuring and control devices as well as in temperature sensors.
We supply the market with many different alloys required for these welded pipe applications. Here are the main examples:
