Our contribution to a
sustainable future

We take responsibility for the environment and climate – with specific targets and measurable progress. Our environmental policy is part of our quality management and goes beyond legal requirements. We have been increasing our energy efficiency within the framework of the large-scale consumer model since 2017. With the Science Based Targets initiative, we have been following a clear path to reducing CO₂ across all three scopes since 2024. Technical measures and site-specific projects reduce emissions, while targeted supplier management promotes sustainable products and transparency.

A holistic understanding of the environment as a guiding principle

From our perspective, sustainability not only means reducing emissions, but also embedding environmental responsibility as an integral component of corporate decisions. For this reason, we consider ecological interdependencies across the entire life cycle of our products and services. With this in mind, we are stepping up our commitment in three key fields of action:

Our climate policy defines ambitious reduction pathways in line with science-based objectives. Through the principles of the circular economy, we promote the reuse of materials and specifically extend product life cycles. In addition, we focus on efficient processes, a lower environmental impact and the consistent optimisation of our ecological footprint when it comes to conserving resources.

Sustainable Development Goals

The 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and to protect our planet. Since 2016, all countries have been working to translate this shared vision for combating poverty and reducing inequalities into national development plans. It is particularly important to address the needs and priorities of the most vulnerable populations and countries - because only if no one is left behind can the 17 goals be achieved by 2030.
